JAZZ/FUNK BAND SWEATSHOP VENTURES INTO POP SCENE WITH NEW SINGLE, "SO FINE" (10/14/06)

The Katonah, NY-based jazz/funk group Sweatshop’s latest single, “So Fine,” is a catchy, youthful, and grooving pop/R&B song, exploring a unique genre from the band’s traditional repertoire. The project began this summer and will be released November 1, exclusively on the band’s website,
www.sweatshopband.com. Shaul Dover, owner of the independent label Sweatshop Records, produced and engineered the song.

Composed and co-produced by son Edan Dover, the song features Adrian Galvin, whose fresh and vivacious voice perfectly suites the modern and trendy melodies. Inspired by the soulful R&B tracks of Marvin Gaye and James Brown and the punctual and rhythmic tunes of Maroon 5, ”So Fine” is a refreshing and distinctive change from the jazz-concentrated album Overtime. The lyrics complete the song, written by Sara and Edan Dover.

"It was kind of an experiment,” says Edan, about Sweatshop’s venture into the pop arena. Nevertheless, it was a successful experiment that will be making its way into the mainstream music scene.

  LYRICS

Walkin' through the door
catch my eye
real hard to ignore
can't deny
girl I just don't know
can't explain
this party didn't start
til' you came

Girl you're So Fine
So Fine you're blowin' my mind, and you're one of a kind, and that's, got me goin' crazy
So Fine
So Fine, girl, tonight there ain't no fakin' it, 'cuz you're shakin' it my way baby

You're eyes are beautiful
They pierce right through my soul
I feel my insides opened wide
Desire floods my mind
nothing matters anymore
only that you're by my side

Baby will you dance with me
on the floor
when we touch it's hard to breathe
I want more
Do you feel the way I feel
Oh baby
Girl please tell me you're for real

Girl you're So Fine
So Fine you're blowin' my mind, and you're one of a kind, and that's, got me goin' crazy
So Fine
So fine girl, tonight there ain't no fakin it, cuz you're shakin' it, my way, baby

Girl we can't wait
it's getting late
and life's too short to let our time pass by
There's nothing to it
yeah baby let's do it
Don't tell me why, my heart don't lie

Walkin' through the door
catch my eye
real hard to ignore
can't deny
girl I just don't know
can't explain
this party didn't start
til' you came

Girl you're So Fine
So Fine you're blowin' my mind, and you're one of a kind, and that's, got me goin' crazy
So Fine
So Fine, girl, tonight there ain't no fakin' it, 'cuz you're shakin' it my way baby
